The Prospect of Application of M-TEM Method and High Density Resistivity Method in Xiongan New Area

  A new chance for the development and application of shallow geophysical exploration is offered by the development of Xiongan new area.Therefore, in the paper, we sum up and compare two electrical methods;the high density resistivity method and the Multi-Channel transient electromagnetic method developed by Chinese Academy Sciences, and expect that both of them can be used in Xiongan new area.The lateral resolution of data acquired by these two methods is higher than those obtained from other electrical methods.This is due to the similarity between their acquisition configuration and that of seismic reflection method, which is, laying down all the receiver electrodes along the survey line and acquiring dense data from shallow to deep subsurface/earth region by moving the transmitter position.Therefore, the integration of these two methods can be highly effective in high resolution electrical prospecting and could provide high vertical resolution data for hydrological and geological exploration tasks in developing Xiongan new area.
