A Handover Method Based on Configuration File Extension in PMIPv6 Intra-domain

  Mobile IPv6 protocol based on host mobility has become a mature standard, however, in order to reduce handover delay and signaling cost during the handover of mobile terminal (MN),the IETF proposed network-based Proxy Mobile IPv6 (PMIPv6) protocol in August 2008.However the intra-domain handover latency is still serious in PMIPv6.To reduce the MN intra-domain handover latency and packet loss, this thesis puts forward a handover method based on configuration file extension in PMIPv6.Optimize the intra-domain handover performance by expanding the contents of the configuration file and adding the proxy care-of address option.The comparation between the initial and optimized PMIPv6 simulation results in NS2 shows that handover method based on the configuration file extension in PMIPv6 domain can reduce the MN handover latency and packet loss.It is conducive to the promotion of the PMIPv6 in the businesses which are sensitive to the transmission quality.
