Combination of Narrowband Demodulation and Order Tracking for Gear Fault Diagnostics Under Varying Speed Condition
To extract the information related to local gear fault of rotating machinery under varying speed conditions, a method is proposed in this paper by combining the narrowband demodulation and the order tracking scheme.Firstly, vibration and rotational speed signals of gearbox are synchronously sampled with constant time increment, and then the vibration signal is resampled with constant angle increments of shaft angle, by which the non-stationary vibration in the time domain is converted into the stationary one in the angle domain. And then, the vibration signal is processed by using the angle synchronous averaging (RDA), thus, the components that have nothing relevance to the shaft rotational frequency are weaken. Finally, the narrowband demodulation technique is applied to the signal after RDA.In this way, vibration components whose periods are an integer multiples of the running speed can be easily identified.Experiment has demonstrated this analyzing method is valid.
