RESPONSE SURFACE METHODOLOGY TO OPTIMIZE THE DIAMETER OF PVA/SA ELECTROSPUN NANOFIBER

  PVA/SA nanofibers were electrospinned by using PVA(polyvinyl alcohol)/SA(Sodium alginate)solution.The effective parameters of SA content,applied voltage,distance and flow rate were optimized by using Box-Benkhen design(BBD)method.The results showed that the SA content had the most significant influence on the diameter of nanofibers,while the interaction item of the SA content and voltage was the next important parameters respectively,then was the interaction item of voltage and distance.Based on the response surface plots,the optimum conditions(SA content: 31.85%,distance: 14.19 cm,voltage: 18 kV,flow rate: 0.61 ml/h)for producing the minimum nanofiber diameter of 242.12 nm was obtained.The effect of SA content on fiber diameter and morphology was observed by SEM.Results showed that SA content was related to the fiber diameter and morphology; with the SA content raising,the bead percent increased.
