Study on the Resistance Erosion of Periclase-hercynite Brick to KCl in Cement Kiln

  The periclase-hercynite brick are mainly used in cement kiln firing zone.The alkali steam in cement kiln causes the damage of periclase-hercynite brick.In this paper,the erosion mechanism was studied by the SEM morphology and X-ray diffraction of different parts of periclase-hercynite brick,which had been eroded by KCl.The results showed that erosion of KCl is mainly through the liquid phase at the low temperature stage.As the reaction temperature rise,The KCl rapidly produce gasification reaction and diffuse into the non-working surface of the produce through the pore,which erode the product.Meanwhile,the gasification reaction causes a large volume expansion,resulting in cracking damage of the product.In order to increase the service life,the density of the product should be increased and the porosity should be reduced.
