Application of KAlSi2O6 in the Mullite-corundum Refractory Sagger for Calcining Ternary Battery Materials

  KAlSi2O6 (KAS4)was applied in the mullite-corundum refractory sagger by adding pre-synthesized KAlSiO4(KAS2) powers.KAS4 was in-situ formed by interactions between KAS2 and mullite grains.The newly-formed KAS4 surrounds around mullite grains and favors micro-crack generation and ceramic bonding formation in mullite-corundum-KAS4 materials.As a result,the corrosion resistance to Li(NixCoyMnz)O2(LNCM) battery materials,thermal shock resistance and hot modulus of rupture of mullite-corundum refractory sagger materials are improved.
