Performance improvement and practice of permanent lining for 80t tundish of Hyundai Steel
The bauxite-based self-flow castable and andalusite-based self-flow castable were prepared with special bauxite,andalusite,SiO2 micropowder,α-alumina micropowder and calcium aluminate cement as main raw materials.The specimens were heat treated at 110 ℃ 24 h and 1500 ℃ 3 h,respectively,and their permanent linear change rate,bulk density,modulus of rupture,hot rupture strength,thermal expansion coefficient and thermal shock resistance were tested.The result shows that compared with bauxite-based self-flow castable,andalusite-based self-flow castable has lower modulus of rupture and hot rupture strength,smaller thermal expansion coefficient and better thermal shock resistance.Andalusite-based self-flow castable has been used satisfactorily in permanent lining for 80t tundish of Hyundai Steel.
