Carbides Evolution of FGH4096 PM Superalloy Powders during Pre-heat Treatment Process
Nickel-based FGH4096 PM superalloy is the key structure material applied to turbine disc. The powder particle quality is very important for disc prodution, which will influence the microstructure evolution during hot isostaic pressing process. It is reported that PM superalloy powder quality will be improved by means of pre-heat treatment process. The carbides evolution of FGH4096 PM superalloy powders during pre-heat treatment were studied by means of SEM and TEM.The results show that MC metastable carbide precipitate during rapid solidification process, and compositions of MC carbide contain more weak carbide formation elements.MC carbide shows different morphologies, compositions and lattice parameters.During pre-heat treatment,MC metastable carbide transform to stable MC carbide, also M23C6 and M6C carbides precipitate. After pre-heat treatment, stable MC carbides morphologies are mainly regulal cubic, and compositions are mainly Ti,Nb and Zr strong carbide formation elements.
