Microstructure and Properties of Cu/Graphite Composites with Different Volume Fraction of Modified Expanded Graphite
Cu/Graphite composites were successfully prepared through powder metallurgy with 10-70 vol.%of modified expanded graphite. The modified expanded graphite was prepared by flexible graphite paper which were broken into small particles. The microstructures of the composites were characterized by scanning electron microscopy. The fabricated composites were tested for their mechanical and thermophysical properties such as bending strength, compressive strength, thermal conductivity and thermal expansion coefficient. The results show that the composites can be easily prepared with high modified expanded graphite content and the uniform distribution of graphite and copper can be promoted. The modified expanded graphite contents have a great effect on the microstructure and properties of the composite.
