Optimization of Ball Milling Parameters to Fabricate High Magnetic Properties Ca Substituted SrLaCo Ferrites
High magnetic properties Ca substituted SrLaCo ferrites were fabricated by using ceramics process. The effects of milling parameters on the microstructure and magnetic properties of ferrite magnetic powder and magnets were studied. The results show that, the final particle size of ferrite magnetic powder is determined by the size of milling balls. The ball to powder mass ratio affects the efficiency of the particle size reduction, but with no significant effect on the final size of the particle.Heavier agglomeration action occurs when using smaller balls during milling, which leads to the decrease of remanence for magnets. In this study, the optimal milling parameters are: diameter of balls 6.2mm,ball to powder mass ratio 16:1,milling time 25 h.In this case, the Br,Hcj,and(BH)max of the magnets achieve 4633Gs,4871Oe,and 5.26MGOe,respectively.
