Effect of Heat Treatment on the Properties of GH4169 Alloy Fabricated by Selective Laser Melting
Purposes: To verify the forming ability of GH4169 alloy powder by selective laser melting(SLM),and find the right heat treatment that to improve the mechanical properties.Methods: In this paper,some GH4169 alloy specimens were fabricated by selective laser melting(SLM)and different heat treatments were applied to them respectively.Then the density,microstructure,hardness and the tensile strength were tested.Results: The results show that most of the specimens density has reached 99.9%,and the tensile strengths were better than the traditional casting standards,but still have room to improve.For example,there were still pores and defects inside the specimens.Different heat treatment made the microstructures of the specimens produce different hardening phases.And the double ageing specimen has the largest tensile strength which reached 1489 MPa while usually the homogenization+solution+aging was the better one in traditional heat treatment.Conclusions: the GH4169 powder have a good forming ability and the reasonable heat treatment can significantly improve the properties of specimens.
