Filament Metal Printing:Sintered Metal Parts Based on FFF with Reinforced Feedstock
Some say,it is 20x faster than powder bed laser melting.Filament Metal Printing is an extrusion based technology using fused filament fabrication(FFF)with a metal powder filled feedstock to additively create green parts. In this study we used the commercially available Ultrafuse 316LX filament to investigate the potential, tolerances and the limits of this technology. We also give a comparison between different 3D printers using this raw material.Innovative Aspects of this research work we see ina systematic research and analysis on printing Ultrafuse 316LX.Debinding and sintering effects, challenges and design rules forfunctional parts will follow.
