Research on Sintering of Plastic-based 17-4PH Stainless Steel by Metal Powder Injection Molding
Tensile test bars and impact test blocks were made from plastic-based 17-4PH stainless steel feeding by injection molding technology.And the hardness,tensile strength,elongation,reduction of area and impact toughness of the test alloy were tested after high purity nitric acid catalytic debonding,high temperature sintering(1360℃)and heat treatment(solution treatment,aging treatment).The result shows: using different sintering protect atmospheres of N2,Ar,H2 and high vacuum(<0.01 Pa),17-4PH stainless steel samples sintered in high purity hydrogen have the highest density(7.75 g/cm3),the lowest carbon content(0.001),the best mechanical properties after aging treatment and uniform grain size.
