Study on Defects and Detection Methods of Forged Mo Rods
This study detailly introduces typical defects features,distribution and causes in forged Mo rods.Detection and preventing methods are thoroughly studied at the meanwhile.From metallurgical microscopy,typical defects such as coarse grains,ununiform microstructure and porosity in center region can be easily observed.These defects can be positioned and detected quantitatively by ultrasonic nondestructive testing.Then the characteristic waveform for the typical defects,such as point shape and line shape,which carried out and analyzed.By combining metallurgical microscopy and NDT methods,the relationships between waveform and detects type are established,which providing guideline for high performance forged Mo rods.
