Implementation and Verification of a High Throughput Reconfigurable MIMO Detector
In the next generation of wireless communication system,MIMO is one of the most important technologies to achieve high throughput.However,MIMO detection is one of the key steps in MIMO.Firstly,in this paper K-best algorithm is chosen as the MIMO detection algorithm.Then a reconfigurable MIMO detector is proposed on FPGA with high throughput and low BER.Experimental results show that the proposed detector in this paper is compatible with the antenna configurations from 2 × 2 to 4 × 4,and supports the QPSK,16-QAM and 64-QAM modulation methods.Besides,the detector supports K values varying from 1 to 8.Under the conditions of 4×4,64-QAM and K=8,the detector can achieve throughput of 2.88Gbps.In addition,compared with state-of-the-art K-best hardware,our work improved the performance by 5 times with only 50%increase of area.The proposed MIMO detector fully meets the requirements of the LTE/LTE-A system.And the supports of reconfigurable parameters provide high flexibility and future extension.
