Germanys Hazardous Waste Management
The term “hazardous waste refers to various types of waste with defined hazardous properties that are harmful to the environment and/or human health.Hazardous waste must be treated with special techniques and procedures that ensure safe and environmentally sound management(UBA,2016).In Germany, certain types of waste with hazardous properties are sometimes referred as hazardous waste for which no clear legal definition exists in German law. This review attempts to describe the status of hazardous waste management in Germany by explaining the regulation, law and associated national policy. In this concern,Publications of the UBA(2016)and the Federal Ministry for the Environment,Nature Conservation,Building and Nuclear Safety(BMUB,2016)are used.
