Preparation of Activated Carbon-based Supercapacitors Using Office Waste Paper
Office waste paper is widely distributed in the city as a common waste. The harmful substances produced by traditional incineration and landfill cause serious pollution to the environment and cause great waste of resources. In order to solve this problem, this experiment used office waste paper as a matrix material, through pre-carbonization and KOH activation method, combined with orthogonal test design and investigating process parameters such as carbonization temperature, activation temperature,alkali-carbon ratio and other process parameters. And then the supercapacitor electrode material was prepared by further optimizing the conditions. The electrochemical,BET,SEM,XRD,XPS,FT-IR and other analytical methods were used to characterize the activated carbon and supercapacitor electrode materials. The results showed that the specific surface area of paper activated carbon prepared at 500 ℃ for carbonization,650 ℃ activation and the ratio of alkali to charcoal was 4:1 reached 2945 m2/g,and it had three stage graded hole structure of macroporous-mesoporous-micropore with micropore mainly. At 6 M KOH,the specific capacitance of the super capacitor reached 297 F/g at a current density of 1 A/g,and the specific capacitance retention rate was 94.5% after 2500 cycles at a current density of 10 A/g,demonstrating excellent electrochemical performance of the supercapacitor.
