Silicon Nanocrystals Prepared by Femtosecond Laser Ablation in solution under different ablation time
Spherical silicon(Si)nano-crystals(NCs)were prepared throughpulsed femtosecond laser ablatingof porous siliconpowerimmersed in 1-hexene.Compared to bulk Si,Raman spectra of Si NCs showa redshift and an asymmetrical broadening.High resolution transmission electron microscopy measurements showthatSiparticles were dispersed uniformly in 1-hexene.FTIRspectra showed that the Si nanoparticles were passivated by organic molecules.Based onthe room temperaturephotoluminescence(PL)excitationand PLdecay curves,we assignblue PL to localized excitons throughoxygen associatedsurfacestatesfromthe colloidsSi NCs.Because ofthe good surface passivation forcolloidal siliconNCs,the quantum yield increases with extending ablation time.
