INFLUENCE OF INTERFACE TYPES ON THE FLEXURAL PERFORMANCE OF FRP-CONCRETE COMPOSITE BEAMS
FRP-concrete composite structure is a kind of light-weight hybrid structure with high durability. The flexural test of 7 FRP profile-concrete composite beams was conducted to investigate the influence of interface types on the flexural performance of beams. The interface types between FRP profile and concrete include wet-bond interface, shear key interface, and shear key combined with wet-bond interface.Three types of failure modes were occurred in this test: shear failure of FRP-concrete interface, longitudinal shear failure of FRP profile web,and bulking failure of FRP profile web.The failure process of the specimen was described.Meanwhile, the ultimate capacity loads and flexural stiffness of different members were compared. Results show that the interface type can significantly influence the flexural performance of FRP profile-concrete composite beams. And the shear capacity of the web of FRP profile needs to be improved in order to further study the failure load of the interfaces.
