Static Experiment of Hollow FRP Sluice Gate under Triangle Load in Water Conditions
Considering the superior durability performance of FRP materials,extensive research has been made to study the application of FRP under water conditions.While seldom is this material be used as main bearing members,a small number of researchers studied the performance of FRP plates under concentrated load,while theres no research taken to study pure FRP component under triangle load under water.This paper proposed a new-style hollow FRP sluice gate designed under the requirements of deflection control,and designed a series of static experiments under triangle load in water conditions.In the experiments,the strains and deflections were tested to verify the bearing capacity and stability of FRP sluice gates.The results show that the strain and elastic deformation can be basicly recovered under water load.The design value of ratio of deflection to span for FRP gates were also analysed.
