NUMERICAL ANALYSIS OF RC BEAMS STRENGTHENED WITH PRESTRESSED CFRP PLATES
The strengthening of concrete structures by using of external bonded CFRP laminates was proved to be an efficient and convenient method for structure rehabilitation.Further advantages can be gained by prestressing the CFRP laminates.Additional to experimental researches,finite element method(FEM)is also a reliable and efficient way to launch researches.The FE modeling of non-prestressed CFRP laminates bonded beams has been developed by many researchers,and it can be very practical and accurate.But the FE modeling of prestressed plated beams has not been reported yet.In this paper,based on Abaqus,a specially designed cohesive element(COH2D4)for prestressing procedure has been proposed,this cohesive element can constantly express the property of adhesive between CFRP plate and concrete before and after curing.By using of this proposed cohesive element,prestress can be induced into CFRP plate correctly.The FE modeling in this paper contains 1 un-plated beam,1 plated beam with anchorages and 1 prestressed plated beam with anchorages.The results of each model has been compared to the experimental results respectively.
