NUMERICAL BEHAVIORS OF CONCRETE MEMBERS EXTERNALLY PRESTRESSED WITH CFRP TENDONS EXPOSED TO FIRE

Due to the high performance of carbon fiber reinforced polymer(CFRP),such as high tensile strength, corrosion resistance and light weight,CFRP is widely used in buildings, bridges and infrastructure. However, its deterioration of mechanical properties at elevated temperature limits its further application. In this paper, the fire resistance of concrete members externally prestressed with CFRP tendons(CMEPC)is analyzed and studied by different protective measures. The results show the insulation systems can effectively protect the CFRP tendons and reduce the deflection of CMEPC at elevated temperature. At the same time, the finite element analysis is carried out by using Abaqus software. The ultimate bearing capacity and deflection characteristics of concrete members prestressed with unbonded CFRP tendons in fire are in good agreement with the experimental data.Research results provide the basis for the practical application of CFRP tendons.
