EFFECT OF SHEAR SPAN/DEPTH RATIO ON DISTRIBUTION OF EFFECTIVE STRAIN OF FRP STRIPS

  The shear cracks can affect the distribution of the FRP strains.Based on the test data from our previous investigations,this paper studies the strain distribution of FRP strips along the critical shear crack and evaluates the strain distribution factor Dfrp under different shear span/depth ratios.Total of twelve concrete reinforced beams strengthened in shear with full-wrapping and U-wrapping CFRP strips are applied in this investigation.Comparing the strain distribution factor Dfrp between the U-wrapping and full-wrapping configuration,the result indicates that the strain distribution factor Dfrp depends strongly on the shear span/depth ratio.
