DATA ANALYSIS ON EFFECT OF SHEAR SPAN/DEPTH RATIO ON FRP SHEAR CONTRIBUTION

　　The shear span/depth ratio(a/d)is seldom applied to FRP shear strengthening design guides,although it has been found that the a/d ratio can affect the behavior of shear strengthening in current investigations.In this paper,more than one hundred test results collected from literatures are used to analyze the effect of a/d on the FRP shear contribution of strengthened RC beams and compared with the FRP shear contribution predicted from five design guidelines.The result of data analysis indicates that the shear span/depth ratio can significantly affect the accuracy of predictions from various design guidelines,and it hence should be taken into account in predicting FRP shear contribution.
