DURABILITY OF AN RC BRIDGE STRENGTHENED WITH POST-TENSIONED NSM CFRP STRIPS
This paper presents the durability of a reinforced concrete bridge retrofitted with post-tensioned nearsurface-mounted(NSM)carbon fiber reinforced polymer(CFRP)in service zones that are specified in the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials(AASHTO)Load and Resistance Factor Design(LRFD)Bridge Design Specifications(BDS).An analytical model is developed to simulate the response of the strengthened girder in tandem with stochastic approaches for chloride-generated corrosion damage. The cross-sectional area of the steel reinforcement is steadily reduced with corrosion, whereas the level of deterioration is not sufficient to induce fatigue problems. The CFRPs stress marginally increases for a period of 100 years.
