Experimental Study on Interface Performance Between BFRP Grids and Concrete Substrates
The basalt fiber-reinforced polymer(BFRP)grid is a new application form of FRP materials with advantages of high strength, low weight, high workability and strong resistance to corrosion. It has received significant attentions for strengthening existing structures. This study was to investigate the bond behavior between BFRP grids and concrete substrates according to double-lap shear test.Test variables included bond length and bond material.Test results showed that the bond behavior was sensitive to the bond material. The strain and bond stress distributions along the BFRP grids were confirmed to be more concentrated when the BFRP grids-concrete interface was bonded with epoxy resin. However, the BFRP grids-concrete interface with polymer cement mortar(PCM)had a better performance as the strain and bond stress distributed more widely. In this case, more transverse bars of BFRP grids participated in bearing the shear load as the load increased.
