BOND STRENGTH OF CFRP MOLDED ON STEEL SURFACE BY VARTM TECHNOLOGY AND ITS FIBER OPTIC SENSING
Recent years,a large amount of structure which is built during high economic growth period is gradually aging in Japan.Structural performance has been degraded by corrosion in steel structures. For that, adhesive bonding method has studied and developed for repairing and reinforcing. However, this method causes brittle fracture at adhesive layer and difficult to maintain after bonding. To solve these problem, mechanical characteristics of inside part of repairing and reinforcing is investigated by using fiber Bragg grating(FBG)sensor in this paper. It is suited to embed inside part of repairing and reinforcing because FBG sensor is extremely small sized and superior to explosion-proof.It was performed three-point bending test of carbon fiber reinforced plastic(CFRP)strengthened steel plate having embedded FBG sensor. Then, this paper shows FBG sensor is effectively applicable for damage sensing through analyzing the optical power spectrum(OPS)obtained by FBG sensor.
