3D FINITE-ELEMENT ANALYSIS FOR SLAB EFFECT ON THE SEISMIC BEHAVIOR OF FRP REINFORCED CONCRETE(FRC)FRAMES

  This paper describes the effect of the concrete slab on the lateral response of FRP reinforced concrete(FRC)moment resisting frame(MRF).A 3D detailed finite element model was developed to investigate the seismic behavior of a three-story FRC frame.The feasibility and accuracy of the model in predicting the lateral-load drift curve and strains in FRP bars verified against the available experimental data.With the developed model,the slab effect on the behavior of the FRC frame was investigated.The results strongly recommend that the slab contribution must be taken into account during the design of FRC-MRF.
