LONG-TERM CREEP BEHAVIOR EXPERIMENT OF GFRP BARS UNDER DIFFERENT SERVICE LOADS AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
Creep is one of essential and long-term behaviors of GFRP bars.Under different service loads and environmental conditions, creep behavior of GFRP bars should be measured and studied to find out the actual serviceability as applied in concrete structures.Several sets of long-term loading leveraging equipment were designed and installed for creep deformation test. The experimental variables included: sustained service loads equivalent to 30%-40%of ultimate tensile loads of GFRP bars, and working environments such as atmosphere, alkaline solution and concrete.Multiple groups of monitoring data were obtained with testing period of 600-950 days. The current analysis results showed that all the loaded GFRP bars maintained normal working states, and under long-term service loads, creep deformation increments in GFRP bars were always stable and small.Under sustained loads and alkaline solution environment, the deformation development of GFRP bars was larger than the other environmental conditions. It could be concluded that under normal service state, the long-term deformation property of GFRP bars would be reliable.
