FINITE-ELEMENT ANALYSIS OF FLEXURAL BEHAVIOR OF HYBRID STEEL-FRP CONTINUOUS REINFORCED CONCRETE(HSFCRC)BEAMS
This paper presents the numerical analysis results of flexural behavior of hybrid steel-FRP continuous reinforced concrete(HSFCRC)beams.A nonlinear two-dimensional(2D)finite element model(FEM)was developed and validated against the results of steel and FRP continuous reinforced concrete beams tested by others. With the developed FEM,the flexural behavior of over-reinforced HSFCRC beams with 33%,50%,and 67%replacement ratio was investigated. Results showed that the replacement ratio of the HSFCRC beam shouldnt be less than 33%.
