Release characteristics of base cations during soil mineral weathering under simulated acid rain

  In order to investigating the release characteristics of base cations during soil mineral weathering,two types of red soil were collected for this simulated experiment.EDTA-ammonium acetate solution at pH 7.0 was used to remove the soil base cations in treated soil(TS).Then batch method was used to simulate leaching at pH 4.5 in treated(TS)and untreated soil(CK).The results showed that all base cations in CK groups declined sharply at first,then remained stable.But the variation trend of different base cations in TS groups are distinct from each other.And it seems that there is no remarkable difference in the release characteristics of base cations in the two types of soils,though the mineral compositions and soil parent materials are completely different.The same terrain climate and organisms conditions may be responsible for the phenomenon.
