The distribution of rare earth elements of granitic regoliths under the influence of climates
The distribution and anomalies of rare earth elements of granitic regoliths were studied in Inner Mongolia and Hainan Island,China. The profile NMG-3-1 shows slightly enrichment of REE in upper layer and no obvious LREE/HREE fractionation(LaN/YbN of 0.9).The profile HN-2 are significantly enriched in REE and enriched in LREE in upper profile(LaN/YbN > 1.8).The Eu,Ce,and Gd anomalies of two profiles are different.Negative Eu anomaly in profile NMG-3-1 indicates dissolution of feldspar,in contrast, positive Eu anomaly in profile HN-2 suggests the vegetation cycle may contribute to soil.Ce anomaly of two profiles reflect oxidation of Ce and coprecipitation of Fe-and Mn-oxides.Correlation between Ce and Gd anomalies in profile HN-2 suggests Ce and Gd are both influenced by redox-reduction.
