CO2 Emission and organic carbon burial in the Xinanjiang Reservoir
In order to understand the carbon effect of large reservoir, this study investigated a large reservoir in subtropical area, the Xinanjiang Reservoir,in detail.CO2 emission from water-air interface,as well as the organic carbon burial in sediment was studied. The results showed that, this reservoir has a significant seasonal difference in CO2 emission from water-air interface. On the other side, river impounding also leads to the enhancing of aquatic photosynthesis, during which large amount of authigenic OC was formed and buried in sediment.
