In-Situ SEM Mechanical Testing for Small Scale Material During Deformation at Elevated Temperatures
Introduction Single crystal nickel-based superalloys are increasingly used as critical components in aerospace industry.Precise analysis of fatigue mechanism is a significant issue in the design of those components,especially high temperature fatigue.Fatigue crack nucleation and propagation are highly microstructural sensitive process 1.Therefore,there is increasing demand in fatigue test in small scale.SEM is a great tool to obtain high-resolution image.However,in situ fatigue test under elevated temperature is extremely challenging,and rare works have been done 2.
