Fatigue Performance of RC Beams Strengthened with CFRP under Coupling Action of Temperatures and Random Bending Loads

Introduction With popularization and application of fiber reinforced polymer(FRP)strengthening reinforced concrete(RC)structure technology, fatigue performance and durability of the FRP strengthened RC members has been widely attention1.However,FRP strengthened RC bridge structures are servicing in a natural environment, and experiencing more obvious temperature difference in days and years, and the live loading is vehicle load which is random in time and space. Therefore,Influence of environment on durability of FRP strengthened RC structures has been become the focus of attention in civil engineering field2,and the research results show that the environmental temperature cannot be ignored as the most common influencing factor. Moreover, previous studies have shown that load sequence, overload, etc.would affect the fatigue performance of materials and structures3-4.Therefore,vehicle random loads are one of the important issues must be considered for durability design for FRP reinforced RC bridge structures.
