High-Speed Videometric System Based on Camera Array
1 Introduction Due to the diverse advantages,e.g.,non-contact,full-field,etc.,videometric methods are widely used to measure the deformation variables such as displacement and rotation of objects 1.However,for the case involving instability of complicated structures,e.g.,buckling of reinforced thin-wall structures,stick-slip of interfacial structures,etc.,multi-scale dynamic deformation often happens; moreover, occurrence of structural instability is random. Thus,to investigate the mechanism of structural instability using photogrammetric method, the imaging system must satisfy high-speed,high-resolution and long-work-time simultaneously. However, owing to technological limitations, the current high-speed measurement system is invalid. It is impossible to realise the effective measurement of instability process of complicated structures relying on the development of high-speed imaging system. In this case, camera array system is a potential solution to this issue. With appropriate triggering controlling on camera array system,it is possible to achieve high-speed and long-work-time imaging, but without any reduction of the spatial resolution.More details about the principle and examples of the camera array system will be presented below.
