Calibration for Blood Irradiation Dosimetry
Blood irradiator uses a gamma source to inactivate T cells,it is the effective method for preventing Transfusion associated graft versus host disease(TA-GVHD).An appropriate dose of gamma irradiation can eliminates the risk of TA-GVHD,while preserving the quality of other blood cells such as RBCs,PLTs,and granulocytes remain an issue. In order to calibrate irradiation dose,we take three dosimeter such as ferrous sulfate(Fricke),alanine, andfilm with corresponding phantoms for measurement. Our study shows:1)Fricke can easily and comparatively accurately obtain the reference point dose(Urel=2.0 %,k=2),besides precisely dose distribution because of large volume of Fricke;2)Alanine could getthe reference point dose(Urel=4.0 %,k=2) and the distribution more accurately, but need special equipment(EPR) to read;3)Film could get the distribution perfectly, besides the reference point dose because of un-traceability of film.So we can use three scheme to calibrate reference point dose and distribution by different precision:1)Fricke;2)Alanine;3)Combination of Alanine and film, the reference point on the film is replaced by alanine whichmeasuredthe dose and film obtainsthe distribution.
