Objective:A common objection to the use of active middle ear implants is that equal outcomes can be achieved by conventional therapy.The conventional treatment of mixed hearing loss(HL) consists of surgical reconstruction of the middle ear,assuming that the air-bone gap is closed completely,combined with a conventional air conduction hearing aid(HA).
