Prediction of Speech Comprehension Benefits Using a Real-time Simulation of an Active Implantable Hearing Aid
When developing new implantable hearing systems,it is advisable to assess the proposed benefits for prospective patients.Amplification levels measured in vitro in temporal bone specimen give a good estimate of the new devices proposed functional gain.However,this does not easily translate into speech comprehension benefits for the prospective patients.
