Rapid Determination of Alkali-Resistance Cellulose Content in Fully Bleached Chemical Pulps by Flow Injection Visible Spectroscopy coupled with chemometrics Analysis

  This paper reported a semi-automatic method for rapid determination of alkali-resistance cellulose content(R10)in fully bleached chemical pulps by flow injection spectroscopy assisted with multivariate data analysis.The results showed that the square root of linear regression coefficient(R2)of the linear correlation between the root of absorbance at 500 nm and amount of the suspended particles in the solutions is only 0.890.With the application of second-order differential calculation(SDC)and partial least square regression(PLSR)techniques,a good-robustness and accurate calibration model has been developed,in which the R2,root mean squared error cross validation(RMSECV),and relative prediction errors(RPE)are 0.9996,0.5293,and 0.56%,respectively.Combined with the semi-automatically property,the present method takes a little time(each lasting no more than 40 minutes)for determination of alkali-resistance cellulose content in fully bleached chemical pulps,which is very suitable for use in industrial-related research and field applications.
