EFFECT OF THE DIALDEHYDE CHITOSAN/AMINO STARCH ON PAPER STRENGTH

  The structure of dialdehyde chitosan/crosslinked amino starch(DCS/CAS)composite and its effects on paper strength were investigated in this paper.DCS/CAS was prepared by the reaction of DCS partly grafting in the main chain of CAS to form Schiff base,which analysed by Fourier Transform Infrared and Ultraviolet spectrum.The thermal property of DCS/CAS was analysed by TG and DSC,the thermal decomposition temperature of 200℃ can meet the needs of papermaking industry.In addition,compared to adding DCS and CAS,the strength of paper sheet can be greatly increased by adding DCS/CAS in pulp.The tensile and burst index of paper can be increased by 31%and 35%respectively under pH value of 6 and reaction temperature of 70℃ conditions.
