EXPERIMENTAL DATA AND KINENTIC MODELING OF CARBNOATE FORMATION DURING KRAFT PULPING OF EUCALYPTUS
This paper investigated on the carbonate formation during kraft pulping process of eucalyptus under different conditions.Based on the experimental data,a kinetic model predicting the formation of carbonate was proposed. In this model, the time-dependent residual effective alkali(REA)was firstly introduced based on its linear relationship with a negative exponent of H factor. Moreover,α,which is the ratio of carbonate origin from polysaccharides to the total, was also firstly proclaimed in this model. Results showed that the proposed model could predict carbonate formation in kraft pulping at various process conditions with a good accuracy(R2=0.923).It was found from the model that about 54%of total carbonate formation originates from lignin, and that carbonate formation was more sensitive to reactive temperature than initial effective alkali(IEA).With above experimental results and kinetic behavior,a control strategy was suggested.
