The Preparation of Glass Fiber Air Filter Paper and the Enhancement Effect of Synthetic Fiber

  Treated glass fiber using acid in ambient temperature,discussed the best pH and the dosage of the glass fiber on the properties of air filter paper base paper; and further studies the synthetic fiber and glass fiber ratio affect the performance of air filter paper base paper.Results show that when the pH was 3.0,the processing effect of the glass fiber was the best,and when the glass fiber content was 30%,the tearing index increased by 13.6%,tensile index increased by 1.2%,and the thickness increased by 5.3%,therefore the best content of the glass fiber was 30%,air filter paper had the best performance; When adding polyvinyl alcohol fiber and polyester respectively,we found that the content of the polyvinyl alcohol fiber was 30%and the content of polyester was 10%,the property of the glass fiber air filter paper was best,but contrasting polyvinyl alcohol fiber and polyester fiber on the properties of base paper,we could see that the performance which added polyvinyl alcohol fiber was better than that of polyester,and when the content of the polyvinyl alcohol fiber was 30%,the tearing index increased by 22.4%,and burst index increased by 27.5%,tensile index increased by 19.7%,and the stiffness increased by 1%,then we can conclude that polyvinyl alcohol fiber was suitable for mixed with glass fiber to make the air filter paper using glass fiber,and the permeability of the resultant base paper was higher than 100 μm·(Pa·s)-1 and much higher than the industry standard requirements.
