STABILIZATION OF AKD-IN-WATER EMULSION BY NANO SILICA AND CHITOSAN

　　An AKD Pickering emulsion costabilized by nano silica and chitosan were prepared by homogenizing the mixture of AKD and the dispersion of silicon dioxide and chitosan.The properties and sizing performance of the AKD emulsion were investigated in this paper.It was found that the increase of chitosan dosage significantly improved the stability and the sizing performance of the AKD emulsion.When the amount of silica and chitosan reached 0.4%,2.4%(based on the AKD)respectively,the as-prepared AKD emulsion had small droplets diameter,uniform droplet distribution,and exhibited high stability and high sizing efficiency on alkaline peroxide mechanical pulp(APMP).
