EFFECT OF WOOD PULP ON RECONSTITUED TOBACCO WET WEB MAKING

  The drainage ability,wet web strength and peeling strength from the simulated drying cylinder are studied while blend wood pulp with tobacco pulp in this paper.Results show as follows: The tobacco pulp blend with wood pulp has high drainage resistance.Within the typical solids content range in pressing section,the initial tensile strength of the tobacco wet webs is improved by the wood pulp.The initial tensile strength of 15%wood pulp is increased by 69%than that of 8%wood pulp tobacco wet web at the 41%solid content.Wet web strength of the first drying section is also improved by the wood fiber.The difference between tensile strength and peeling strength is also increased over the entire practical range of solids contents in the simulated first drying section,which decreased the failure problem of tobacco sheet making.Wood pulp is very important for tobacco wet web strength.
