STUDY ON THE NANO STARCH USING IN SURFACE COATING OF LIGHT WEIGHT COATED PAPER
In this study the nano starch was prepared by the twin-screw extrusion and characterized by the SEM.The average particle size of nano starch was about 100nm and used in the surface coating of light weight coated paper.Comparing with the ordinary coating starch,the results showed the nano starch could achieve the preparation of high solid content of coatings,and could improve the water retention performance of coating.All ordinary coating starch and part of styrvene butadiene latex can be replaced by nano starch.When 5 parts of ordinary coating starch and 4 parts of styrvene butadiene latex were replaced by 6.5 parts nano starch,water retention property of coatings was increased by 64%,viscosity of coating was decreased by 11%,the IGT printing surface strength of light weight coated paper was increased by 11.6%,glossiness of coated paper was increased by 7.2%,and other performances were met the requirements.The nano starch is with high cost performance,and cost savings of coating is 15.5 RMB for per ton coated paper.The performance advantage of nano starch is obvious,and economic benefit is remarkable,which has a good application prospect.
