Hemicellulose extraction to reduce adsorbable organic halides formation in chlorine dioxide bleaching of bagasse pulp

To study the content of hemicellulose on influence of the adsorbable organic halides(AOX)formation in chlorine dioxide bleaching,pH pre-corrected hot water pretreatment was developed.Lignin on influence of AOX formation was eliminated by control of hot water extraction time,AOX formation was decreased by 33.27%under the optimum condition of hot water extraction. The chemical composition of bleaching effluent was analyzed by GC-MS,the formation of chlorobenzene and chlorophenol was inhibited by removal of hemicellulose, this kind of ring material was degraded into chain macromolecules and small molecules. The hemicellulose structure characterization of raw material and bleached pulp was analyzed by ATR-FTIR and NMR,there are differences in structure between the bagasse hemicelluloses and the solid residual hemicelluloses,AOX formation was affected by the structure of hemicellulose.
