Preparation of Carbon-based Solid Acid Catalyst Based on Waste Paper
A cheap paper-derived solid acid catalyst was successfully prepared by incomplete pyrolysis carbonization of waste papers followed by sulfonation.SEM、XRD、FT-IR、TGA and acid density test were employed to characterize the structure and performance of the catalyst.Various preparation variables exerted obvious effects on the catalytic activity of the prepared catalyst, and the optimal preparation conditions was carbonization at 450 ℃.Results showed that the catalyst was amorphous carbon composed of aromatic carbon sheets with –COOH,–OH and –SO3H groups, meanwhile the acidity of the novel heterogeneous catalyst could reach as much as 5.97 mmol/g.Furthermore,the catalyst had good thermal stability, which could bear 200℃ without decomposition. The catalytic activities of the catalyst were investigated through the cellulose hydrolysis and total reducing sugars of 54.59%were achieved.
