WASHING AND BLEACHING EFFLUENT DEGRADATION BY A HETEROGENEOUS FENTON-LIKE SYSTEM ON SYNTHESIS IRON OXIDE COATED SAND

  Heterogeneous Fenton-like System on Synthesis Iron Oxide Coated Sand wasused for the advanced treatment of Washing and bleaching effluent.A new synthesis iron oxide coated sand catalyst(SCS)was synthesized.The physicochemical characteristics of the SCS were evaluated by SEM/EDAX and surface analyzer.Particle size is about 100nm; specific surface area is 3.1347m2/g.The investigation an attempt was made to degrade washing and bleaching effluentby heterogeneous Fenton-like system on SCS.SCS exhibited a higher activity and stability.SCS was coupled with heterogeneous Fenton-like system to resolve the continuously reuse problem.After treatment by SCS system,the CODcr removal rate of wastewater was more than 70.0%at pH 5.The effluent can steadily meet the standard of the national wastewater discharge for pulp and papermaking industry.
