DISSOLUTION OF LIGNOCELLULOSES WITH HIGH LIGNIN FROM POPLAR CONTENT IN NMMO·H2O

  A method about dissolution of lignocelluloses with high lignin content in N-methylmorpholine-N-oxide(NMMO)monohydrate via a simple mechanical pretreatment process was studied.The lignocelluloses in which lignin content reached up to 18.04%can be dissolved in NMMO solvent via the swelling with glycerol and mechanical extrusion pretreatment process.The longer dissolving time is required when the lignin content of lignocelluloses is higher.Moreover,the effect of dissolution-regeneration process of lignocelluloses on crystal structure and micro-morphology was researched by X-ray diffraction and scanning electron micrographs.It showed that the pretreatment process had no effect on the crystal type of cellulose,but the diameter of fiber bundle was changed from coarse to fine.
